According to the latest Cricbuzz update, rain has resumed, and players from both teams are standing on the sidelines.
India defeated Australia in the semi-finals to reach the final. They chased down the seven-time champions’ target of 339 runs, with Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur performing brilliantly.
On the other hand, South Africa defeated England to reach the final for the first time. Both sides boast star players, including Laura Wolvaardt and Tanya Zampani, Smriti Mandhana, and Shafali Verma.
Everyone was expecting some great cricket, but rain spoiled the mood.

Rain spoils the game, what if it’s cancelled?
Now, if the match is cancelled due to rain,
The good news is that the organizers have already set aside a reserve day. The match will be rescheduled tomorrow, Monday, November 3rd.
According to ICC rules, both teams must play at least 20 overs each for a final result to be decided.
If rain also occurs on the reserve day, it will create history; for the first time, two teams will share the World Cup title.

Bumper increase in prize money
On the other hand, the good news is that the prize money for this tournament has increased by 297%. The ICC has set a total purse of $13.88 million, significantly more than the previous edition.
This is more than $10 million for the 2023 Men’s World Cup. The BCCI has stated that if India wins, players and support staff will receive ₹125 crore.
This is a major step towards equal pay. Girls’ cricket is now being valued, and fans are happy.
